KUSA-TV: 11-Year-Old Archer Takes School on the Road

11-year-old Marya Remines is a two-time state champion in archery. After enrolling in Colorado Preparatory Academy (CPA), Marya has more time to practice her passion.

Initially, Marya was involved in ballet, but decided to make the switch to archery. Now, Marya has won a total of 15 tournaments and owns two different range records.

On CPA Marya said, “I don’t have to worry about such a complex schedule, I can just do my lessons later.” As a sixth grader, Marya is able to complete her coursework anywhere with an internet connection. Overall, the program has brought her success. “It’s going good, I’m getting good grades and I’m having fun,” she said.
