Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville (TVAH) is getting ready for its inaugural school year. TVAH teachers recently spent a week training in Lewisville, and will incorporate what they learned in their virtual classrooms.
As an online educator, math teacher Jennifer Pinkerton loves the perk of telecommuting. She says, “It is a joy for me to be able to teach from home. I am able to serve my family in the way that I want to. I can be there with them in the mornings and take care of tasks like laundry or throwing something in the oven and be home after school. It is the best of both worlds.”
Pinkerton says that there are multiple reasons that more parents are enrolling their children in online school. She says, “We continue to see families continuing to look for an alternative.”
