Insight School of Washington Students Log On for the New Year

TACOMA, Wash.

TACOMA, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Insight School of Washington (ISWA) will begin the 2019-2020 school year on September 4. An online public school program of Quillayute Valley School District, ISWA offers students in grades 9-12 from across the state an education model that will set them up for success through high school and beyond.

ISWA provides a personalized approach to learning, delivering engaging curriculum entirely online. In pursuit of their high school diplomas, ISWA students take advantage of the school’s rigorous curriculum and myriad support services to ensure their academic and personal success.

“Each new year is full of new possibilities for our students,” said Cecily Kiester, head of school at ISWA. “Our online learning environment gives students the space to explore their passions and live up to their potential. We are partners in their success, beginning on the first day of school all the way to graduation.”

In addition to their core subjects, high school students have the opportunity to take career-oriented courses through the school’s new Destinations Career Academy. Destinations offers career-focused electives, giving students a jump-start on establishing and pursuing career goals. While working toward their high school diplomas, students can choose from a variety of courses in high-demand industry sectors of Business and Information Technology.

The opening of the new school year comes as families across the nation are eagerly seeking more ways to prepare students for career success, before they graduate high school. According to a recent survey conducted by Morning Consult, only 13% of parents strongly agreed that their school system is teaching kids “useful skills that will help them in the real world.” Career readiness programs like ISWA’s Destinations Career Academy are designed to help bridge this gap.

ISWA ensures students are ready to learn and succeed after high school with resources such as graduation, college and career planning. Weekly advisory sessions facilitated by specially trained staff are aimed at boosting self-confidence, promoting self-awareness, and building interpersonal skills. The school’s Family Academic Support Team empowers students to overcome academic, social, emotional, medical or other challenges as they chart a path towards high school completion.

Enrollment is still open for the 2019-2020 school year. To learn more, visit wa.insightschools.net or download the K12 mobile app for iOS and Android devices.
