TO THE EDITOR:
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, Mrs. Seavolt is our son’s sixth grade teacher at Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA).
Hunter was not a child who was terribly enthusiastic about learning. When he met Mrs. Seavolt, something “clicked” for him. She made a real connection; his love for learning has returned and he loves going to class again.
We enrolled Hunter at MGLVA for him to have the best possible education. Having teachers like Mrs. Seavolt is exactly why we chose virtual school and why we stay here.
Plus, the bullying Hunter experienced at brick and mortar school is non-existent at MGLVA. He has meaningful interactions with peers both inside and outside the virtual classroom fostered by Mrs. Seavolt. It’s been life-changing for our family!
While brick and mortar schools around the country celebrate their teachers, I want our online teachers to know how much they are appreciated. They make developing relationships a priority in the online platform and our students benefit from this personalized approach. Thank you, Mrs. Seavolt and MGLVA!
