To the editor:
We transferred our son Ryan to Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA), an online school that helped Ryan not only attend school but also continue his busy career as a champion dirt bike racer. You see, Ryan has what it takes to “go pro,” but we will not sacrifice the quality of his education. MGLVA allows Ryan to manage his intense training schedule and stay competitive as school too.
Ryan takes his laptop anywhere in the country, logs on, attends live classes with accredited teachers, completes school work, and works in small groups. MGLVA has helped Ryan mature as a student and develop important management skills.
We want Michigan to protect school choice for our own son and for the many families out there that need something beyond the four walls of a school building.
